COVID-19 Service Updates

Taking care of older adults in their home is at the heart of what we do at Optage. As we navigate the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, staying at home and practicing social distancing is essential for older adults.

For this reason, Optage feels fortunate that we are able to continue to provide the care and services our clients depend on to stay home and stay well. In all our bridging options, we are following guidelines and procedures from the CDC, State Department of Health, local and county authorities.

Weekly delivery and ordering returns July 6, 2020!

Your delivery is now back to the schedule it was before the COVID-19 delivery changes. If you were receiving a weekly delivery before, you will receive one week worth of meals and we will see you again next week. If you were on a bi-weekly delivery before, your delivery will remain bi-weekly.

ORDERING
You may use the menu received with delivery to fill out and leave in your cooler bag for your driver to take next week. We are still not doing face to face contact or taking menus from your hands. Please refer to the “give to driver” and “meals selections” dates that are listed on your menu for questions on what week you are ordering for and when to give the order. You may also call or email us. Include your name, address, and phone number. Please allow 3 business days to process your order.

If you have a standing order, you can continue to receive those meals. You do not need to hand in a menu to receive your standing order. You can change items on your standing order by calling the office 3 business days prior to your delivery.

If you like the daily features listed, you will not need to call or hand in a menu for the week. Those items will automatically be delivered.

If you have questions or want to place an order, please call our office at 651-746-8280 or email [email protected]

DELIVERY
We are still practicing contactless delivery when possible. For a successful delivery, we need the following:

A clean cooler bag outside your door. We will knock or call after we have loaded your meals into the bag.

If no cooler bag is available, we need a verbal OK that you are home and able to receive meals and we will leave them in plastic bags outside your door. If we can't reach you, or if the bag is not clean, your meals will not be left.

NOTE
Meals are prepared and packaged using the highest level of food safety, following standards of the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety Inspection Services (USDA-FSIS). Delivery drivers are also taking safety measures, including using hand sanitizer before every delivery.

Home Care

Clients who live in private residences are receiving home care services. Clients who live in senior living communities will receive care contingent on the protocols and procedures in place at their specific community.

  • All Optage home care staff are trained in infection control.
  • We are screening staff and clients with each visit.
  • Adjustments may be made in schedules. Clients will be contacted if their caregiver's schedule changes.
  • Clients may see a change in their care team as we streamline who is serving at each residence.

Hospice

Hospice employees continue to provide care to clients facing life-limiting illness and their families.

  • For the safety of clients and the Optage team, we are providing only essential care such as nurses and home health aides.
  • We are screening staff clients with each visit. We are also screen family before care meetings.
  • Adjustments may be made in schedules. Clients will be contacted if their caregiver's schedule changes.

Optage is also following all health and safety procedures and protocols of its parent organization, Presbyterian Homes & Services (PHS). Click here to read what PHS is doing to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

We thank you for your cooperation, patience and flexibility as we do all we can to keep you safe and healthy.
